Friday Morning Metal – Amon Amarth – At Dawn’s First Light

There’s a new Amon Amarth album, Jomsviking, and this is the video for At Dawn’s First Light. I’m normally not a fan of growly vocals, but Amon Amarth does such a great job of it that I’m all in for it. The guitar solo with the dueling guitarmonies is a great interlude to the big might and majesty of laying waste to some countryside.

So check it out, then go get the album, then listen to it all the time.

Friday Morning Metal – Amon Amarth – Blood Eagle

Hey so you guys should watch Vikings because it is metal as all get out. Or metal is Viking as all get out. Anyway, last night’s episode was titled Blood Eagle, and for good reason. So today’s morning metal is the Blood Eagle that Adam shared a few weeks ago.

I did not know a Blood Eagle was a real actual thing until I started watching Vikings. It’s a thing! And it’s BROOOOOOOTALLLL.

Friday Morning Metal – Amon Amarth – Deceiver of the Gods

I already tweeted this, but a buddy of mine has also been on a quest for more metal and decided to give Amon Amarth another look. His review of Deceiver of the Gods, their newest album, is “this will make you want to get drunk and wear a Viking helmet.” And honestly, it’s pretty accurate. This is great battle metal, Viking battle metal, where you want to land a boat on fresh beaches and loot and pillage.

Hell, a couple friends who also watch Vikings on the History Channel described it as “an hour-long Amon Amarth music video. Except when they go to Uppsalla, then it’s a Korpiklaani video.”

So here’s Deceiver of the Gods. Enjoy!

Friday Morning Metal – Spongebob Remixes

One of my roommates in college loved Spongebob, so our TV was tuned to Nick like half the day. My favorite bit from the show is when they are in a marching band for a halftime show, and end up playing Sweet Victory instead of some standard marching band fare. There’s more to it, I recommend checking out the ep. Anyway, it’s been metalified by Youtubers so I want to share.
