Angry Metal Guy posts all sorts of everything metal. 95% of it usually has doom or sludge or black or death as a modifier and I tune out. I don’t like to listen to music where the vocals sound like a broken dishwasher. That’s just me. But then sometimes they post proggy stuff or power metal or just straight up mid 80s shredfests. Where Evil Follows is one of those shredders.
The vocals aren’t necessarily the best, but they do give a mild Anthrax vibe. But that’s not really why you’re here. Apparently there’s a guitarist named Toby Knapp, and he’s the guitarist on this album. And he plays the kind of solos that should only occur on a mesa in New Mexico.
They Came For Us is a pretty solid song, I think it’d hit my regular rotation with a different singer, because everything else is incredibly tight. They lean on the gallop rhythm a lot, which is fine by me, I love a good gallop.
