Friday Morning Metal – Warbringer – Remain Violent

I don’t know who got this thrash resurgence going, but I like them very much. This time it’s Warbringer, from Newbury Park, California, a town by Thousand Oaks. I remember Thousand Oaks mildly. Apparently we had family out there, and I heard stories that back in the day, driving from LA to Thousand Oaks was a whole day affair, despite being 40 miles away on the 101. I think now it’s probably still a longer affair than expected, given traffic.

Anyway, Warbringer’s Remain Violent is a great, raucous thrash anthem, rife with chuggy guitars, driving beats, and growly aggro vocals. Oh a good shout & response portion in the chorus. I do look forward to seeing them live and shouting VIOLENT and pumping my fist and appropriate moments. And the song’s all of 3 minutes long. That’s a good length for a thrash song.

The solo is tight and well-put together, sounds like both guitarists really go for it, with some soaring held notes and squeadlies & meadlies, and maybe some sweeps picking. It’s great. I dig it. So go listen to it, enjoy what the Thousandth Oak has created!
