I’ve been on a search for new metal, checking out recent releases and ultimately being disappointed on many of them. I’m not sure when death, doom, black and technical sludge metal became huge, but guttural vocals are not my bag.

Anyway, a friend turned me on to a new release from Manilla Road, who I actually hadn’t heard until that point. They’ve been around since the 70s and definitely have a kickass old school metal sound, kind of like Angel Witch but with deeper vocals.
