Friday Morning Metal – SoulHealer – Don’t Shoot the Dancing Dwarf

Straight out of Finland, we’ve got SoulHealer asking us to not shoot the dancing dwarf. I’m not sure what the dancing dwarf did to elicit that kind of response, but it’s nice of SoulHealer to stand up for him. Encyclopaedia Metallum calls them Melodic Heavy Metal™, though they do have kind of a bouncy poppy vibe. Kinda like late era Alestorm or DragonForce.

Shazam has some lyrics for the song, makes it sound like the dancing dwarf wants to make friends and party and someone is a liar who wants to shoot him or something. Regardless, it’s kinda power poppy and interesting. There’s a solid guitar solo toward the end, but otherwise the song doesn’t stretch out too much. It’s fun to hear the vocalist add a little falsetto pop before the chorus.

The official video is a lyric video, which is fine, but live footage exists and is a bit more fun. The singer kinda looks like Sami Zayn, maybe they can do a collab and write an intro song for him. These guys do a ton of rock posing during the show, which is fantastic. Though if I was the videographer I might not have added as many crowd shots, as it looked kinda thin at this event. Probably because it’s midday or something.
