Apparently Spotify’s Discovery Weekly Playlist decided I needed some cheese this week. Nitro’s straight out of 1987, featuring Michael Angelo on guitar (or a four-necked weirdo guitar), and has the big falsetto vocals that are just fun. The song is a speed metal chug fest, with vocals alternating between growly and falsetto, with three part harmonies on the choruses. I wouldn’t say this song is quintessential 80’s, that’s Play With Me by Extreme, but it’s up there in the pantheon of what future generations of metalheads should listen to in their history of metal class.
