Friday Morning Metal – Deathblow – Prognosis Negative

HOLY CRAP THERE’S A SEINFELD THRASH BAND. These guys are pretty, pretty, pretty solid, and with albums named “Prognosis Negative” and “The Other Side of Darkness,” it’s only a matter of time before they release Chunnel, Sack Lunch, or Cry, Cry Again. Because you’ll cry, then you’ll cry again.

The guitar work is tight, and true to thrash form it’s frenetic and terrific. I love me some dueling guitarmonies, especially when it sounds like they could do the rock guitar synchronized poses that make everything better. And the vocals feel pretty Anthrax-y, which I prefer to the growls and spits and guttural noises some bands do.

Anywhere, here’s Prognosis Negative.

Friday Morning Metal – Dragonforce – Defenders

Dragonforce has a new album coming out, with an appropriately Dragonforce-ly name of Maximum Overdrive. This album features a new vocalist, Marc Hudson, and he manages to carry the banner of kickass Dragonforce vocals. Crazy noodly guitars, dueling guitarmonies on solos, and wild ass drums, this is some fantastic Dragonforce right here.
