Friday Morning Metal – Mac Sabbath – Pair-a-Buns

They’ve been around forever, and they’ve played the Shakedown at least a few times, it’s Mac Sabbath with Pair-a-Buns. It’s a pretty solid riff on Paranoid, and given the recent passing of Ozzy I thought it’d be cool to put something Sabbath-related up. So here we go.

Not sure how much I need to devote to the video, it bounces between the band being out in the world and then a claymation Ronald Osbourne taking out the fast food mascot competition. Mascompetition? I think that’s a new one there. They also talk about how fast food is the devil and as much as that’s true, cheeseburgers are good. The band does a great job matching the original music, and then the spoof lyrics get things going.

Oooh and Ozzy got to meet them and got a kick out of it!

Friday Morning Metal – Barenaked Ladies – Christmas Pigs

HAPPY POST CHRISTMAS MASHUP METAL DAY. Three time platinum BNL got to hang out with the guitarist from Rush and mashed Santa Claus is Coming to Town into War Pigs, and it’s pretty fun! Then they squish Rudolph and Deck the Halls into it. Works that War Pigs is such a long song, *slaps hood* you can fit so many Christmas songs up in here.

There’s a solid guitar solo up in there, which makes sense given how rad Alex Lifeson is. I bet this would’ve been a fun show to see.

And just because I love this scene here’s the study group from Community defending BNL, who are that fundamental to need a shorthand.

Friday Morning Metal – Black Sabbath – Paranoid

Pretty sure this is the first metal song I ever heard. Ever. And probably the last time anyone could understand a word Ozzy was saying. Totally kickass that Tommy Iommi’s a lefty. You don’t see many of us shred. Aside from him. And Dick Dale, and Hendrix. And I think that guy from Op Ivy/Rancid.
