Well I guess Babymetal is a real actual thing and not just a gimmick from a couple years ago. It’s probably the combination of them being solid singers plus the fact that the backing band is talented. That’s how longevity works, right?

They just released a new song, Karate, and it’s pretty solid. It’s a bit more industrial than I usually dig, but hey it works. Apparently it’s been described as “metalcore/Sumeriancore hybrid, only not as dated-sounding as that description might suggest.” I didn’t know there was Sumeriancore, I have to assume those bands all look like Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan, because that’d be fantastic.
